“ This is and has been our GO TO place before The Riviera shows. A great "old school" no frills tavern with friendly staff (Scottie at the bar runs an awesome shift !) and good time neighborhood vibe! The food has always been spot on excellent and they have a nice beer selection! They can "cram" hard for some of those crowded shows but be smart and get there with plenty of time to relax and enjoy and drink it all in. ”
“ Dwyers has been one of our favorite restaurants for years and it never lets me down. The burgers are massive and delicious. They have a black belt in tater tot fu. Their stinger is genre redefining. One of a kind grilled cheese. Absolutely come here. ”
“ Party of 5, sat upstairs right away on a Fri night before a show at the Riviera. Good food, fast & friendly service... I would definitely recommend! ”
“ Omg what a hidden gem! This place is amazing! The burger was, amazing and ginormous , the roll was like a homemade bread loaf and the tater tots were delicious and crispy. The beer selection is great and the waitress was very nice! We will definitely return. ”
“ Out of all the pubs in North Tonawanda this is definitely the most welcoming and accommodating. The outdoor patio offers a bowl of water to all those with paws. The burgers are always cooked perfectly and are so large I can guarantee you won't be able to finish it. The steak sandwich is my favorite. The staff is attentive and personable; Alyssa is excellent, remembering us and our order each time. ”
“ Took their Guinness Burger for a test drive... It worked well. Also enjoyed their sweet potato fries. Their mixer with my tall double Bacardi & coke... wasn't near Coke or Pepsi. But hay its an Irish bar... My wife's Pepsi she said was flat... and the Sprite replacing it was off just a bit. Her wrap was good enough to bring the other half home for lunch tomorrow. ”
“ We went here to eat before going to a show at the Riviera. Nice beer selection, good pub food and good service. Big shout out to our waitress Madison. Excellent job. Great place to stop at before and after a show. ”
“ After a day on the boat we decided to pop over to NT and find a place to eat. It was a beautiful Saturday evening and everywhere was super busy. Since we did not have a reservation a few places couldn’t even seat us that evening. It was a bit of a wait here too but there was a band so we decided to come to JP Dwyer’s. The restaurant is pretty big. Lots of tables inside and they can accommodate groups. They have a large outdoor patio as well with a good amount of seating. It’s definitely a historic building and divey kind of bar. First of all the service was not good. It took a long time to get menus, waters and finally drinks. Trying to get refills was even harder. Once we were able to order the food took a ridiculous amount of time. We waited well over an hour. We ordered very standard bar type food. The server barely came back to check on us. People who came after us got their food before us. We asked the server about the food status at one point and she said it wasn’t ready and she would check. 15 minutes later the food came. Some was hot and fresh. Other items were cold, one item was not edible. I understand it’s busy and places are understaffed but we would have rather gotten the food as it was cooked so people could eat their food hot. It didn’t seem like the server cared much or was paying attention to when the food was up. My pizza logs were hot and tasty. The sweet potato fries were cold. I did love that they were shoestring and still very crispy. They would have been even better hot. My significant other had the steak sandwich and he said it was fine. Other friends had the wings and said they were very good. Another friend had a burger which came out burnt, like had black char on one side. It was really obvious and the kitchen should have caught this and not sent it out. It took so long to get our food we ended up having to drive the boat home in the dark. Not a great situation. Seems we came on a bad night. We did enjoy the band and people watching. If you come to NT in the summer on a weekend make a reservation for the place you really want to go to avoid this kind of thing. ”
